Autumns here, my Family Photo Shoots are under way and it’s not long before we look for some Christmas gift inspiration.

This is definitely my most favourite time of the year.

I love the dark nights and the crisp cold mornings. Autumn lets me indulge in some of my special treats like the finest smelling candles and a good red wine.

We always put our Christmas tree up on 1st December and I can’t believe that’s less than a month away. I see no point in dragging it out of the loft and decorating it just for a few days. So, to me, doing it on the 1st makes it worth our while.

People around me are starting to share their Christmas gift ideas. My girls wrote their lists last month, not that they are eager at all!

Christmas gifting has changed so much in my relatively short lifetime. I wrote lists of things I “needed” over the year and waited for Christmas or birthday to receive them.

Now it is so hard to buy for the ones we love. If they need anything they just go out and buy it themselves.

In the past couple of years, I’ve even stopped buying my girls toys and turned to family experiences instead. This year alone we have been to the New Forest Fairy Festival, Feastival, Harry Potter Studios and Corfu.

I recognise spending time together, means much more to them than to have a huge pile of presents.

My job is all about making memories and it has taught me to do so for my own family.

If you’re stuck for Christmas gift inspiration this year, why not think about giving a Wildgoose Photographics gift voucher.

These are valid for a year and can be purchased a number of ways:

  1. Pay a specific amount that suits you towards a photo shoot and images.
  2. Buy a voucher for £75 to cover a family session fee. (images not included)
  3. Buy a voucher for £150 for a children’s Fairy Mini Shoot (includes 5 digital images)

Photo shoots are a fantastic way of getting the whole family together. Making memories for everyone to share for years to come.

Some of my favourite sessions have been multi-generational. This splits the cost for everyone, and each family gets something out of it.

Another option is to have a family shoot before and use the professional photographs as a family Christmas gift.

One of the reasons I have been so busy this year and now only have 1 session left this November. So much so I have opened another two sessions in the diary for December.
